Scans and QR generation happen on your device
Selected images, camera frames and decoded results are processed in your browser. The reader does not upload your scans to a decoding server. The QR generator also works locally: links, text, Wi-Fi details and contact fields are not sent to a QR generation service.
The scanner and generator library is served from this website, rather than a third-party script CDN. Google Analytics stays off unless you accept optional analytics. If you accept, it uses analytics cookies to count visits with a generic site title, known public page paths and only an approved public search-engine or AI-service origin. URL queries, fragments, referral paths and all calculator or tool inputs and results are excluded. Advertising tracking stays disabled. Only your consent preference is saved for 180 days; use Analytics privacy settings on any page to change or revoke it. The tools do not save a scan history or generator inputs in browser storage.
What stays in the page
Images are used for decoding and results remain in page memory until you clear results, reload or close the page. Camera access begins only when you choose Start camera; it stops after a capture, when you stop it or when the page is hidden or closed. Browser permission settings remain under your control.
Downloaded QR files are saved wherever you choose. A Wi-Fi QR contains the network credentials you entered, and a contact QR contains the contact details you entered. Anyone who receives or scans that QR can read its contents. Clearing the form does not remove downloaded files.
Ordinary website requests
Your browser must request the page, scripts and sample images from the website host. Those requests can include an IP address, browser information and requested URL. The hosting provider may keep ordinary server or security logs under its own practices. Local decoding does not make a website visit anonymous or guarantee offline availability.
External links and shopping searches
Decoded links never open automatically. If you choose a result link or shopping search, its destination receives the request. Retail searches include the barcode or the Amazon search terms you entered. External sites have their own privacy and cookie policies.
Amazon search links include an affiliate tag. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Scanning alone sends no shopping request.
